Partnership for 21st Century Skills

Overall, I thought the website was good. It gave a wealth of information on the use of technology in the classroom as well as formative and summative assessment information. My favorite part was the section on snapshots. I liked the link to edutopia which had video clips of how students used and integrated technology into their core curriculum. I wished the clips included more for the elementary age student and how they use technology in the classroom. I wish the website included more videos with more hands on ideas and just about the program in general-I think it would have made it more interesting. I liked how the state standards were outlined and the amount of information that was provided to go along with each. I thought the website to be beneficial with a lot of information, though, there was a lot to read.

  1. There was a lot of information. The links especially under the state initiatives and then under the Resources for 21st Century Skills is endless. It serves as a good resource.

  2. Teachers can be very creative, but videos showing innovative teachers can really be inspiring. The more hands on ideas this web site can provide, the more we can adapt them for our level. Sometimes I think the transformation education needs is so massive and involves so many teachers and students it can never happen, but we need to keep moving forward. The videos showing success can help us keep our motivated!

  3. I agree with Dianne. The site does provide us as educators a lot of useful information. When I first began to peruse this site I was so surprised that I was on the site for over 2 hours. The video's I found was what kept me so intrigued to the site. They had endless clips! I am now learning the importance of how the skills of the 21st Century is vital, not only for student's but for teachers as well. While I reflect personally, I am aware that I am not ready, and that I have to take charge of myself before I can instill my knowledge with others.

  4. I think we can all agree, the site has some great ideas. I like the video option too. But I am curious with us stretched around the US and even into Hong Kong, how many of our states were included the initative list? What does this say about how many of our states are being proactive and involved with such a great program? Is that really working or getting our kids ready if our state is not associated with this partnership?
